What this covers
A first Pakistani passport works differently depending on who it is for, and it is honest to say so upfront. Every application starts with a valid NADRA card, because the passport is built from the record NADRA holds: a baby needs a citizen number first (most parents get the child a NICOP), and an adult needs a current, unexpired NICOP or CNIC. For a baby under two, a first passport can be applied for online, and we prepare the whole submission for you. For an adult, or any child over two, a brand-new passport cannot be done online: it requires an in-person appointment at a Pakistani consulate or High Commission (in the UK that means London, Birmingham, Bradford, Manchester, or Glasgow), and we get your documents and forms right before you go so the visit is quick. The passport authority is DGIP, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports. You can choose a 36 or 72-page booklet in 5 or 10-year validity, and most people take the 10-year. We apply under the Urgent category for every client, which in our experience puts the passport at your UK door in about 20 days including delivery, because the Normal queue can run months.
